On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure and honor to announce the SRA Asia Conference 2022 which will be held in Seoul, Republic of Korea from November 18th to 19th, 2022.
SRA Asia Conference has been held from 1998 onwards and Korea is planning to hold the 7th conference in 2022.
The overarching theme for the Conference will be ‘Revisiting risk Governance issues in the post- pandemic era in Asia’. We would like to invite all of the great scientists, academicians, young researchers, and students from Asian Countries to attend the conference since the participants will have great opportunities to network through extensive discussion and stimulating exchanges on this occasion.
Furthermore, given the significant impact of the pandemic and restrictions on traveling abroad, we have made the carefully considered decision to transition from a face-to-face meeting to a virtually online one.
Risk analysis is the process of identifying and analyzing potential issues that could negatively impact on various social, environmental and technical aspects. This process is conducted in order to help individual and organizations avoid or mitigate those risks.
Performing a risk analysis includes considering the possibility of adverse events caused by either natural disaster like earthquakes, floods or adverse events caused by inadvertent human activities. An important part of risk analysis is identifying the potential for harm from these events, as well as the likelihood that they will occur.
In SRA HQ, the Core Subjects of Risk Analysis covers five main topics including fundamentals, risk assessment, risk perception and communication, risk management and governance, and solving real risk problems and issues.
In addition, from the beginning of SRA Asia Conference we have dealt with major risk issues such as natural disaster, environmental health risk, food safety, and communication. During last couple of years pandemic overwhelmed all of these risks and major issues in Asia was less likely to be discussed. Now is the time to discuss major risk issues in this forthcoming Conference and welcoming variety of issues confronted with in each country in Asia.
SRA Asian Conference 2022 will aim to cover these state-of-the-art research perspectives and share the future direction and co-operation plan for managing the risk in Asian countries.
